Nick LeGrande throws out the first pitch at a ball game – from a thousand miles away.
Nick had dreams of making it to the major leagues. His diagnosis of aplastic anemia prevented him from being around large crowds and around the sport that he loved. We built a telerobotic experience that allowed him to throw out the first pitch at an MLB game, through the help of high speed Google Fiber internet and a pitching robot. As Nick threw his pitch from Kansas City, we tracked the angle and velocity and replicated it telerobotically in Oakland, CA.
