A rapid prototyping weekend shows how Toyota’s innovative tech can drive change.
Toyota shared five of its innovative automotive technologies with the public and invited fans to propose ways to repurpose their tech to benefit humanity. After guest judges picked finalists, the online community voted for their favorite ideas. The winners were flown to Pittsburgh where, in just 48 hours, Deeplocal, in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University, designed and built five unique prototypes ranging from a bike helmet that gauges head trauma to a ventilation system that makes indoor cooking safer in developing countries.
